Scar & Stretch Mark
Scarring as a result of acne, trauma or surgery can negatively impact upon our appearance and self esteem. Damage to the dermal and epidermal layers can be improved with the stimulation of and remodelling of collagen. Similarly the appearance of stretch marks can be improved with skin needling.
Effective Cellulite Treatment: A Multi-Targeted Approach
What is Cellulite:
Cellulite, often referred to as "orange peel skin," manifests as uneven skin texture or divots on the skin's surface. This concern affects individuals of all sizes and genders. The presence of fat deposits beneath the skin's surface leads to the development of cellulite. To address this condition comprehensively, we must consider various contributing factors, including genetics, hormonal imbalances (such as insulin-related fat increase), gender (with a higher prevalence among females), ethnicity (more common in Caucasians), diet (excessive consumption of simple carbs and fats), excess weight, and even pregnancy (where increased insulin, prolactin, and fluid volume contribute to elevated fat content).
At the Marr Clinic, we adopt a multi-targeted approach to effectively treat cellulite. Our treatment protocol combines proven techniques tailored to your unique needs.
Prescription Skin Care: Retinoic Acid Cream and Alpha Hydroxy Acid Body Lotion: We kickstart the treatment with a prescription retinoic acid cream and an alpha hydroxy acid body lotion. Over six months, retinoic acid has shown significant cellulite improvement by enhancing collagen thickness in the deep dermal layers and contouring elastic fibers.
Subcision with Cannula: Following retinoic acid application, we employ a cannula, a rounded-tip needle, to perform subcision. This technique severs fibrous tissues between fat lobules, creating micro-injuries that stimulate your body's natural tissue regeneration process. Subcision effectively reduces skin dimpling.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Bio-Stimulating Fillers: To further boost collagen stimulation and tissue rebuilding, we offer treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, which utilizes your own blood, and the application of bio-stimulating fillers. These procedures amplify collagen-building effects over time, resulting in smoother, firmer, and lifted skin, effectively reducing cellulite's appearance.
